  As part of the duties of the Chief of Police, are the duties of code enforcement and inspections relating to building codes. In an effort to make Pearson a much cleaner and safer place for all , the City Council adopted the 2003 Edition International Building Codes to include the Mechanical Code, Fuel Gas Code, Plumbing Code, Fire Code, Energy Conservation Code, Residential Code, Property Maintenance Code, Existing Building Code, and the National Fire Codes. These codes were adopted in December of 2006 by the Mayor and Council to promote the life, health, safety and general welfare of all citizens, and to protect the property of all citizens as well.

   All building permits are obtained thru the Chiefs office. Permits relating to moving mobile homes, building, electrical , plumbing etc can be obtained Monday thru Friday, from 8:00am-5:00pm. Applications for these permits can be downloaded from the police dept website to speed up the process. When turning in an application for a building permit, a set of plans must accompany the application before any permit will be issued. Permits are valid for six months only.
